Make cancelling easy
Most no-shows are people who forgot or couldn't be bothered to call. A reminder the day before with a one-tap cancel link turns a no-show into a free slot you can rebook.
Use deposits fairly
Asking every client for a deposit puts regulars off. Ask only for peak times like weekends and evenings, for long services like keratin or bridal, or for clients who've missed appointments before.
Make it clear the deposit comes off the bill, and say when it's refundable.
Fill the gaps that do appear
Post last-minute cancellations as discounted open chairs. A small discount on a slot that would otherwise earn nothing is still money in the till.
Keep a walk-in queue
For barbers especially, a QR code at the door lets walk-ins join a queue and leave, instead of crowding the waiting area or walking away.
